Google Ban Ads for Bail Bond Industry

Google and Facebook, the world's most dominant online-advertising companies, will no longer take money from America's for-profit bail bond agencies...article by Jon Schuppe / May.08.2018/2:16 PM ET

Well, with this change in advertising for the bail bond industry, Organic Search will become more important than ever for survival. With that said, here is what ONE OF OUR BAIL BONDS clients forwarded to us today in email spam:

From: Ganesh Lingam <ganesh@rightkey.net>

To: help@freebailbondsagency.com
Subject:
How’s Google AdWords working?

Hey, what’s up?

So I see you paying Google a pretty penny to show up on their AdWords platform for “bail bonds” in your city

and yet, your website is nowhere to be found on page one for that same term. Not in their “maps” listings or their “organic” results.

With Google bannind (typo) adwords for Bail Bonds companies, do you have a plan to generate the same or more traffic?

See how we have helped our bail bonds client (another typo) to get more calls without adwords.

THIS COPIED EMAIL WAS BLINDLY SENT OUT TO ANYONE WITH AN EMAIL THAT HAS BAIL BONDS IN THE ADDRESS.  THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO CHECK TO SEE WHERE THEIR RANKINGS WERE.  IF THEY WOULD HAVE LOOKED THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN FREE BAIL BONDS AGENCY ON THE FIRST PAGE IN ORGANIC SEARCH IN GOOGLE AND #3 TODAY IN GOOGLE LOCAL MAPS.

Thanks Free Bail Bonds for bringing this to our attention.

P.S. Beware of so called SEO SPAM emails

The Difference Between Local Rankings and Google Maps

The image you see above is described as Google Local for Local Businesses. There is no cost to advertise in these spots but how do you get there you ask?  Well up to 2016 there were a lot of tools which any SEO Specialist could use to optimize the Google Plus (Google Business ) page.  In 2017 Google eliminated 95% of the tools needed to optimize for Local rankings.

Today Local Rankings in Google are based on activity, social media, and reviews about your business across the web.  That's right, REVIEWS are a huge factor right now, but as you can see from the picture above it's not how many reviews you have but possibly the quality of text in them.  And also, I don't mean keyword stuffing reviews, just good old fashion word for word comments about a service.

And now for the topic...Why are my rankings difference in Google Local and Google Maps?  The answer, Google blends ranking results from both Local and Organic and maps does not.

Think Smart Before Naming Your Company

We have been working with a company called Rosco Rags since 2010 promoting and branding their websites. Internet Marketing techniques that have really helped each website soar. RagsCo is the main rags store for cotton rags, new and reclaimed. It is really the core of all the websites because of it's very short and to the point domain name RagsCo.com. This rag store does very well in Google Search for many keywords like, recycled rags, bulk rags, shop towels, wholesale rags and other words that are similar to this industry. We also have them ranked well in Local Search.

The other store is structured more around microfiber towels. Rosco Microfiber is a supplier of quality microfiber towels which they sell wholesale, bulk and retail. Another branding name that has been catchy from day one. Easy to remember and Google seems to like the brand-able name which also has one keyword in it.

So just keep in mind when starting a business, branding is everything online and offline.  Step one is to think smart before naming your company.  It will pay off in the long run with online visibility if you choose the right company name for advertising identity, SEO and branding.

Google AMP Update

Advice for AMP-curious publishers

Columnist Barb Palser offers a framework to help publishers assess the potential benefits of Accelerated Mobile Pages.
The Accelerated Mobile Pages project has some big numbers on the scoreboard: More than 860,000 domains are publishing over 35 million AMPs per week, according to stats shared by Google at a recent AMP developer conference, where the company also announced the expansion of AMP to more than a billion additional users in China and Japan. AMP already represents 7 percent of top US publishers’ web traffic, according to Adobe.
As the light, fast-loading mobile format is embraced by leading social platforms, e-commerce sites and content publishers, some digital managers are still trying to evaluate the importance and urgency of AMP with respect to their specific strategies.
The AMP-curious include smaller e-commerce sites, professional sites, blogs, academic publishers, niche content sites and even news publishers in small markets. In general, they like what they hear about AMP’s benefits and are eager to improve search performance — but are also juggling a long list of competing priorities and must be careful about allocation of resources and brain space. Their question usually isn’t whether to implement AMP, but whether it’s important enough to prioritize now.
Any publisher can benefit and learn from AMP at some level; here’s a framework for assessing how meaningful those benefits might be for your site, today.

Will AMP improve your site’s reach?

One reason to implement AMP is to increase traffic to your site — and avoid losing audience to AMP-enabled competitors. This opportunity is significant for certain types of websites and negligible for others.
Today, Google’s Top Stories AMP carousel is the main place where AMP content is explicitly and strongly advantaged over non-AMP content. The Top Stories carousel is an array of AMP-rich results for news-related queries. (Certain types of structured content, such as recipes, are also displayed as AMP carousels, but the Top Stories carousel seems to be unique to news.) The carousel dominates the mobile viewport, pushing down other results. If your content is likely to be surfaced in the Top Stories AMP carousel, then you should definitely be looking at AMP.  read more

Google Certifications

Just came across some interesting information regarding Google and certifications.  Did you know that Google won't offer an SEO certification to webmasters?  Why???   Because they don't make any money on your performance efforts for organic search engine optimization, that's why.
SEO Certification
On the other hand a webmaster can get a certification from Google when there is advertising dollars involved, for example AdWords, AdSense, and Analytics.  Read more

I really wish Google would reconsider offering a certification program for organic SEO specialists.  After all... organic SEO is the hardest of all SEO to date.

THE702FIRM in Las Vegas SEO

This article is based on the SEO and web design that I have been doing for THE702FIRM going on 2 years now.  When I first accepted the job as webmaster and SEO specialist, I did not realize this site had been hacked before with several page links being used as spam from UK.  With that said the site was completely redesigned using a new template and no issues up until a week ago.

It all came about while making updates on THE702FIRM site, always trying to make improvements.  Well this time the site got hacked again because of a plugin I installed for the template.  Needless to say the site had to be redesigned again using a different template.  All seems to be fixed now.

So always be careful with plugins that you install.  They can even get past through the htaccess file.

I'm giving Swift Themes a try as they say they are fast, safe clean code and responsive.  They also have custom color functions for design which was great for me so I could keep the same color theme, for the Law Firm site. So far so good.  Clean code is key.  Also I went and deleted all the old templates and file that had to do with the old designs.  This is also important to do so no old bad code is lingering behind the page folders.

Free Bail Bonds Las Vegas

Today I am going to tell my story about Free Bail Bonds SEO which I have been optimizing since 2008.  Free Bail Bonds Agency is located in Las Vegas, NV where there are over 200+ bail bonds companies within the Clark County Nevada lines.  It took about 2 years to get to the #1 position which then stayed #1 for years up until the last Google Algorithm.  Free Bail Bonds was sitting #1 in Local and Organic.  Now has moved down to #5 in Local and #3 in Organic rankings.  I cannot see a reason for this drop as everything is perfect on the site.  Fantastic website speed, good links, backlinks, anchor text, H1-H3 tags.  This has put doubts in the owners eyes about my ability to keep him #1 in the rankings.  I have asked him for fresh content and more social media help on his part but still after requesting this several times I have received no help with this.  In closing, I will continue to tweak the Free Bail Bonds website and Google+ page in hopes of some higher rankings and will post if any improvements.

Google's Next Move on SEO Specialists

Are you prepared for the next SEO algorithm?   It's happening now and you should read up on all the tips you can to stay a float.

So far out of all the sites that I manage I was only hit by one...Penguin two years ago.  Just this week the site started ranking again.  What I did notice was one last effort I made, I put more links on the opening page that directed throughout the site.  Now keep in mind this was for an eCommerce site, which we all know is almost impossible to rank with normal SEO tricks.  But it's sticking so pretty excited about this.

Well it also was around the same time Google made its latest move with Panda and Penguin.  Hard to tell what brought it back but literally have been working on changes for almost two years.  Was a #1 online store for years until hit by Penguin.

I will update if I see anything on Google's next move.

Organic Search Engine Optimization or Local SEO

A few of my long term clients are saying that organic rankings aren't as important anymore and they are pushing for local, local, local rankings for their business.

IS ORGANIC SEO STILL KING OF SEARCH RESULTS?

Yes, Local SEO Top FIVE rankings are KING if the person searching is actually looking for a local business, but if your business is Nationwide then Organic is still the KING of search for trusted sites.

Over the last several years of mastering or trying to master SEO, there are so many more obstacles for SEO Specialists to overcome.  We have pay per click advertising, Google Places advertising, Organic Search Engine Optimization and now Google+ pages with author pictures showing up which of course we all know that the stats show viewers will click on a picture so these are actually really important pages to optimize.  Even the Google Blogspot pages are showing up which is great.

This means so many different pages for an SEO Specialist to work on and build for the client.  The old days of just Organic search engine optimization is over.  It's a whole new playing field out there and yes, I believe I have this down and down well.

So don't just let any SEO Company talk you into hiring them.  Yes, they all say they can promise the world and specialize in a certain area of SEO but in reality to do it right, only hire one company or person that knows what it takes.  These people, like myself have had to work very hard to learn it all and have the years of experience to survive all the current changes and will stay on top of things for future SEO.

I offer SEO consulting and never promise anything.  My job is to just make your phone ring.  Simple as that.  I'm located in Sonoma County if you need a Local SEO Consultant, but I offer my SEO services Nationwide as well.

SEO and Hacked Websites

Las Vegas Bail Bonds SEO Recovery

Local SEO and Hacked Sites

Well after 15 years of specializing in SEO one of my sites got hacked.  Malware detected from Google Webmaster Tools.  WOW.  Shock. SSL Certificate installed, and was on a secure server.

Just so happened to be my longest all time #1 ranking site.  Ok, don't panic like Jim Cramer would say. So after doing some fast research, I did exactly what Google Webmaster Tools said to do.  I found the Malicious coding on the site which was easy cause I have been staring at this coding since 2005 for this site.  I knew exactly where it was and deleted it instantly.

Rankings are dropping fast as Google has blocked the site and has coded this site as being hacked and dangerous. Client is watching by the minute his site fall down in rankings.

After doing everything I could and resubmitting to Google for review, now it's time to sit and wait.  Not knowing how long the process would take, being tortured as you may call it, within two days the site was back up and moved back up in rankings.

But in the mean time, the site split.  Google split the sites between Organic and Local which were combined sometime back.  So now I had one #2 Local and #3 Organic (dropped to 5th) but the odd thing was Google actually changed the local listing from the actual website to the Google plus page as a fall back site which saved any business from being lost.  Client really never did loose much from this whole incident.

So in closing, thank you Google for having backup for me without even knowing how really important the Google Plus pages were until this happened.

All is good and everything back to normal.  Local and Organic listing merged and ranking high.

I have to think this must be an all time record for a hacked site recovery.

SEO SPECIALIST well deserved title if I say so myself!  I'm all you need.
